In Paradisum: Songs of Remembrance and Hope

The most recent recording from The Choir of Cheltenham Ladies’ College, ‘IN PARADISUM: Songs of Remembrance and Hope‘ was released in 2018. Some of the music on the disc commemorates the centenary of the end of the Great War, including a setting of Laurence Binyon’s poem ‘For the Fallen’, alongside movements from requiems by Fauré and Duruflé and Schubert’s ethereal setting of Psalm 23. Reflective and inspiring hymns such as ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Dear Lord and Father of mankind’ sit beautifully alongside anthems that have personal memories for the College community, including a piece by Dominic Hawley, former Director of Music at CLC, and ‘God be with you’, which is sung each year at Leavers’ Prayers.
